Last night we watched Spider-Man 2. Disappointing. Very disappointing. After how great the first Spider-Man was, this one was a total let down.
Why didn't I like it? The first hour and a half are total crap. Its long, slow, drawn out, and just plain boring. It should have been cut down to 30 minutes. Pretty much everything up to the subway car scene was crap, everything after was amazing. I really mean that, the last 30 minutes are great! Everything that is important in the movie happens there. I won't spoil it for you if you haven't seen it, but if you're like me and don't like the beginning just hold on, it does end great.
I'm not sure what Stan Lee (who wrote them) and Sam Raimi were thinking on this one, they just totally missed the boat. Tobey Maguire does once again do a great job as Peter Parker and Kirsten Dunst is very good as Mary Jane Parker. According to imdb.com they have both signed on for Spider-Man 3, due out in 2007. After this one I'm not really looking forward to that one... So I'm guessing I saw a different movie than everyone else, as I only know one other person that didn't like it. If you loved the first one see it, but if you didn't like the first don't bother. Of course you could always just skip to the last 30 minutes!
