I'm sure all the readers of my blog are getting a little tired of all my Microsoft rants lately.  I am just so close to being done with these guys that it's killing me.  Recently I've taken 3 close friend's computers back to XP from Vista (for many reasons but mostly for performance) and last night I hear from Seth Levine (one of our partners) that his computer all of a sudden needs to reactivate.  Well guess what, he can't do that because even though we own enough licenses for all our PC's I have to call MS each time to activate.  Why, well because throughout the time I've had our machines I've activated them too many times (from testing, reinstalls, etc).  So what does this mean to us; a night with no computer for Seth and a phone call with someone in India that I can barely understand for me.

I'm sorry but this is fucking bullshit.  Complete and total bullshit.  Windows freaks out for some reason (to be clear Seth has had this machine for almost a year and made no hardware changes at all) and because they must assume that Seth is a thief he's locked out for an entire night.  I understand the desire to protect your intellectual property but this is fucking ridiculous.  Microsoft you made (according to Tom Keller's site) $15 billion last year on Windows alone yet you're so worried about piracy that you have to screw your customers (and supporters like me) like this?

Well done Microsoft, well done.
